This month we had an amazing opportunity to work with LittleBits. LittelBits are colour coded electronic building blocks. Students were guided by an instructor on how to use the blocks and given exploration time. They had a great time creating power, turning on lights and making a sound sensor. Our guide even demonstrated how to make a motorized car.
During Science we have been working on our senses. We are exploring each sense and discovering how they keep us safe. While learning about sight, we looked at the art of braille and even created our own name with braille using dried beans. Last week, we talked about our sense of taste and how it is related to our sense of smell. We tried three different juices with our eyes closed and nose plugged to see if we could figure out what kind of juice it was. This week we will be finishing off with our sense of taste and starting our sense of touch.
Can you make a parachute for Santa that can make him fly? Our class had a great time working with their buddies designing a parachute for Santa out of only a plastic bag, string, tape, and a cup. Students had to work together and think of a design. They then tested out their design and made adjustments. |
