Our class will be celebrating our final color day: Rainbow Day on Friday, September 19th. We have planned a number of fun activities to wrap up the introduction of
colors and color mixing (mixing the primary colors). One of our activities will be for the students to make a tie-dye t-shirt. Please send $5.00 to school with your child, to help cover the cost the t-shirt and the dyes used to complete this project. These T-shirts will become our “Classroom T-shirt.” We may ask your child to wear his/her shirt occassionally during the year for special days or assemblies.
We need some volunteers to help us with Rainbow Day! If you are available to help us on Friday, September 19, from 9:00 until Noon, please reply to us by email or send in a message with your child. The school requires parent volunteers to have a criminal record check completed every 2 years. As it is early in the year, we welcome you as a volunteer in our classroom, but encourage you to complete this if you plan to visit our classroom regularly as a parent volunteer. As well, we are looking for a parent or two that would be willing to take home our t-shirts (following the tie-dye process) to soak them in vinegar and wash them prior to returning them for Monday morning.
Rainbow Day will be our last color dress-up day and we will be taking a class
